Oh, Dear...

It seems the Toronto Maple Leafs are destined to blow my prediction out of the water.
You might recall, I said, IF the boys in blue could garner 15 points in their first nine games, they would be playoff bound. Well, two losses later, the odds are getting slimmer.
Toronto would need to win their next three games in order to meet my deadline.
The overtime loss to the New York Islanders wasn't so bad, but losing 2-1 to a Gaborik/Drury-less New York Ranger squad, last night, was a little disheartening.
It seems our suprising wealth of goal scoring has dried up. That is one area I had a lot of concern for, heading into the season. Unfortunately, for the Leafs, it will also be the hardest to address as Toronto does not have a wealth of snipers waiting in the wings.
So, does this mean I am backing off my prediction? Hell no! I don't get paid to do this! I can say anything I want.
I think Saturday night against Philadelphia will be a bounce back/character building type of hockey game. Just what the doctor ordered. The confidence gained from winning a game like that will carry the Leafs through their next three to five games and will gain them enough points to fulfill my prediction.
And if you believe that...
